2019 was a breakout year for Aimée, releasing her first two singles, ‘Don’t Bother’ and ‘ Break Me’. Topped off with a performance in the 3 Arena for the sold-out 2FM Xmas Ball, as well as sold-out headline set at The Grand Social.

Now the singer has kickstarted the new decade with the same momentum, releasing her latest single, ‘Don’t Call Me Pretty’. The track sees Aimée stand up for herself and drive home that there’s more than meets the eye.

Swarmed in a hypnotic synth melody and vibrating bass, she sings about the frustrations of being judged based solely on appearance, when she has so many more qualities than her looks.

Speaking about the track, Aimée had to say:

“I think this song can be applied to anyone who has ever been judged on their appearance – and has had all their other abilities, complexities and personality left unconsidered because the focus has been entirely on how they look.

“We live in a very “how you look matters” world. I try everyday not to fit into that mould. I would rather take more time out of my day to do something I love instead of worrying about my hair or my outfit.”

An infectious pop song that is still, unfortunately very relevant today, ‘Don’t Call Me Pretty’ is a song that people should take note of and look beyond what’s just on the outside.
