On The Radar: Ted Russet
Shropshire native, Liverpool resident; Ted Russet is the latest to feature On The Radar, after the announcement of a winter tour.

Ted Russet packed his bags and headed up north to enroll at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA). Now in his final year, the Shropshire singer-songwriter has recently released his second single, ‘Crazy Perfect’.
Russet’s latest single is a dreamy indie track, opening with a hypnotic melody before opening up about how perfect this person is but despite his self-declared poor flirting skills, he’s going to got for it. With the infectious guitars playing, you’ll be swept away as he also sings; “Take me home so we can kiss, I can taste the cheesy chips on your lips… you’re crazy perfect…”.
It’s playful, romantic in a modern sense and a truly uplifting song.
The first single ‘Gold Dust’, was released back in February, opening with a plucky hook, it has a looser feel to ‘Crazy Perfect’. It then begins to build as he sings with a sense of urgency that “you need to try, you don’t need gold dust to fly…”. He sings about soldiering on through the mundaneness of everyday life and looking for an escape. He urges that it doesn’t take something special or magical to break the rut you’re stuck in.
It’s a rousing song about if you want change, you shouldn’t wait for it, go and make it happen.
Ted and his band are hitting the road later this year, with two shows in Liverpool, then more gigs in Leicester, Birmingham and London. Check out the tour poster below.
