Tim Burgess joins the Sound City party with new line-up announcement
Sound City continues to build excitement ahead of its 10th anniversary with another wave of acts added to its line-up.

Sound City is drawing ever closer and with already one of their best line-ups ever, Clarence Docks will now be welcoming The Charlatans frontman, Tim Burgess and guitarist Mark Collins for a special performance at Tim Peaks Diner on the Sunday.
With a huge back catalogue of songs, it’ll be a set not to be missed and afterwards, along with the rest of the band, they’ll also be signing copies of their highly anticipated album, Different Days.
Sound City has ben a great champion of emerging talent and they look set to keep to this trend with a whole host of upcoming artists added to the stunning line-up. Indie-pop outfit, Estrons will be heading to Liverpool, along with Yak, Aristophanes, Manchester group, Cupids and a strong representation of the local talent in The Jackobins, Zuzu and Sugarmen. Making the long journey from down under, emerging Australian rockers, Tired Lion and Gang of Youths are both set to play at this years festival.
Partnering up with Leeds College of Music, Sound City will be welcoming a gathering of some of the hottest talent from the Yorkshire college, with Lucy Whittaker, Laminated Pet Animal, Lucy Rycroft, The Golden Age of TV and Santino. While POP Montreal will be bringing Pierre Kwenders and Mozart’s Sister to the party. There’s many more emerging acts added to an exciting line-up of artists to look out for in the near future, making this year’s Sound City a difficult one to miss.
The festival have teamed up with Bluedots and The Kazimier with an arts programme, showing that the festival isn’t just all about music, giving little away of what to expect, what’s going to be put on will only be revealed as it’s about to begin, but given that The Kazimier blew people away at last year’s festival, there’s high expectations surrounding what they have planned this time around.
Continental Drifts will be adding to the bill a collection of international talents, with Fandjango and KOG + The Zongo Brigade, who’ll be joining local carnival party-starters, Fiesta Bombarda.
With John Cale, The Velvet Underground, Metronomy, The Kooks all headlining and White Lies, Slaves, The Kills and Local Natives all coming to Liverpool this May and now the latest addition to the 10th edition of Sound City, it looks more and more like there’s only one place to be come this May Bank Holiday weekend.
