The Killers bassist announces indefinite hiatus
The Las Vegas band revealed earlier in the week that bassist, Mark Stoemer, is no longer going to hit the road in the future.
Stoemer won’t be leaving the band for good as he’ll continue to work in the studio as the group work on their fifth album but will no longer be taking part in live shows to work on a solo album and achieve educational goals.
In the statement released to Alternative Nation about his indefinite hiatus, “Mark has decided to take a break from The Killers touring—but don’t be surprised if you see him on stage from time to time. Everyone supports Mark’s decision to take a break to pursue other educational goals and releasing a solo album. The four of us continue to work on our fifth studio album together, and we’re all excited about the new songs we’re writing.”
It’s expected that US musician, Jake Blanton will take over the duties of bassists on stage, who previously filled in for Mark Stoemer back in 2013 temporarily. Although as mentioned above in the statement, we can still expect to see Stoemer reappear on stage from time to time.
