Ireland’s queen of country and pop, CMAT has appeased the masses and finally announced details of her debut album and a world tour.
Words by Jack Squibb
One of the breakout artists of 2020, CMAT has dragged country to the forefront of the Irish music scene. Dublin’s country-pop infused singer-songwriter has sold out her shows up and down the country and across the UK after rapidly developing a cult following.
After recently selling out Live at St. Luke’s in Cork as part of the Jazz Weekend festival, she’s now following it up with the announcement of her debut album, If My Wife New, I’d Be Dead and a world tour. Going alongside the news was also the first single from the record, ‘No More Virgos’.
The synth-heavy track sees CMAT take a stance on no longer dealing with the baggage that comes with those autumn-born men.
The world tour kicks off on March 9th at Cyprus Avenue, Cork. The tour also includes stops in Limerick, Dublin and Belfast before heading to the States for three shows. The tour wraps up in the UK on April 10th at the Hope and Ruin in Brighton. See the dates below:
The debut album from CMAT, If My Wife New, I’d Be Dead is out on February 25th 2022. Tickets for her world tour go on sale on November 5th and will be available by clicking here.
