Indiependence go big with first headliners for 2019 unveiled
Always a key weekend during the summer in Ireland, Indiependence have once again showed why, unveiling the first two headliners for 2019.

Indiependence is coming back to Deer Farm from August 2nd to the 4th. The County Cork festival has always brought big indie hitters to the farm, with Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and Walking on Cars topping the bill this year.
The festival has also seen the likes of White Lies, Basement Jaxx and Editors all perform down the years. Dreamland for indie lovers.
Yesterday, the masterminds of the festival unveiled the first two artists that’ll be headlining Indiependence next summer. Gearing up to release their third in the next few months, Bastille will be closing out one of the nights in Mitchelstown. A big step up since their last appearance at the festival in 2013.
Joining Bastille are Scottish powerhouses, in fact global powerhouses, Biffy Clyro. They’ve dominated festivals such as Benicassim, Leeds and Reading, Glastonbury and T in the Park. Now they’re coming back to Cork to headline Indiepence 2019.
The ‘Wolves of Winter’ trio always put on a phenomenal show, whether it’s their standard blistering rock or when they strip it all down and rework their songs acoustically, like on their recent tour across the UK and Ireland earlier this year. The trio are one of the best live bands in the world right now and they’ll be sure to prove that with ease when they take on Deer Farm next August.
Tickets are on sale now at just €139 until January 1st when they’ll go up to €149. Even at €149, it’s a festival with just two bands to its name right now but at that price is a bargain.
Many more bands are still to be announced over the coming months but Indie 2019 is already making us long for singing our hearts out in the middle of a field and sleeping in tents again.
