On the morning of July 30th last year, festival-goers were headed home from Pikehall angry. While anything that could go wrong, went wrong for Y Not? Festival’s organisers the question was asked, what will happen next?

With poor weather conditions wreaking havoc across the festival site, the main stage saw little action, including the Friday night headliners The Vaccines, cancelling. As conditions worsened, organisers cancelled the final day of the festival completely.

After heading back to the drawing board, organisers revealed on Wednesday night the first set of acts headed for Derbyshire this summer. Also on the bill are Circa Waves, Pale Waves and Moose Blood. Joining them are Wales finest Manic Street Preachers, in what should be a storming set. Kaiser Chiefs will be heading to Derbyshire, as well as Reverend and the Makers and The Sherlocks who were meant to be a surprise addition to last year’s line-up but missed out due to the cancellation of the final day.

After last year’s misfortunes, organiser Simon Mawbey said about coming back for 2018; “We’re so happy to be back with our biggest line up to date. There are a lot of changes and improvements being made to make sure the festival is the best it’s ever been in 13 years and I’m excited that we can come back stronger than ever.”

As part of the adjustments made for 2018, Y Not? will be in a new location at Aston Hill Farm, across from Pike Hall, it’s original location. A new security team has been hired after the previous company came under fire for the way they handled last years event.

Y Not? Festival takes place from July 27th to 29th with tickets on sale now, available from here. Check out the first line-up poster below.
