Coldplay to release new music in 2017
Rumours surfaced that Coldplay’s latest album, A Head Full Of Dreams would be their last but the band have announced there’s more to come.
As the bands’ latest record is approaching its first birthday, frontman Chris Martin spoke after a recent intimate gig in London, unveiling that there’s more to come in the near future.
When Chris appeared on Radio 1 for an in-depth interview with Zane Lowe in late 2014, he gave the impression that the band were ready to call it a day after the release of their seventh album and the following tour. The ‘Adventure of a Lifetime‘ singer said that “this [A Head Full of Dreams] is the completion of something…”, which led fans to believe that last years’ release would in fact be Coldplay’s last album.
On Monday, the band took to Twitter to announce they plan on releasing an EP some time next year, in keeping with the colourful theme of their latest record, it’s going to be called Kaleidoscope EP.
After their recent show in London’s Palladium Theatre, lead guitarist, Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin spoke with Magic Radio, explaining the reason behind releasing an EP rather than another record at this time, which you can watch below.

Coldplay recently performed in India for the first time, in front of one of their biggest crowds to date as they headlined the Global Citizen’s Festival in Mumbai, playing in front of over 100,000 fans.
There’s no further details on exactly when the Kaleidoscope EP will be released, other than some time next year or how many tracks will feature.
The band are still currently on their A Head Full Of Dreams world tour, which includes a return to the UK next summer, with two shows both at Wembley Stadium and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
