The National perform Peggy-O from huge tribute album, Day of The Dead
Twins, Aaron and Bryce Dessner have been slaving away, working on a tribute album to The Grateful Dead for five years and finally, the anticipated album was released on Friday.To celebrate, the duo have joined up with the rest of their band, The National and have been performing tracks off the massive album that has over five hours of songs from The Grateful Dead, covered by plenty of fantastic indie artists.
The album features covers from Mumford & Sons, Wilco, Phosphorescent, Sufjan Stevens and more. Released via 4AD records, the project thats taken half a decade to make came out on Friday.
To celebrate the release of the record, The National went on CBS This Morning to perform one of their contributions, ‘Peggy-O‘ yesterday, while the masterminds behind the record, Aaron and Bryce Dessner, sat down and spoke with co-host of the show, Charlie Rose.

The mammoth tribute to The Grateful Dead will also see all proceeds go towards Red Hot Organisation, helping raise funds to fight against and raise awareness of HIV and AIDS.
