Record Store Day 2016 stand out artists
Record Store Day is just under a month away and the full list of artists taking part this year has been revealed. So to get in the mood as it gets closer and closer to the big day, check out some of the best records set for release for Record Store Day 2016.The rise of records has been spectacular and as we approach the eighth Record Store Day, each year has seen record sales continue to increase. Artists have chosen to embrace the day with special releases of new songs or old albums, which adds another incentive for music fans to get out and either start their collection or add to it.
This year, we’re being treated to some big releases, with the likes of Chase & Status, James Bay, Slaves and The Libertines all taking part on April 16th.
Foals are releasing a 7″ vinyl of a track recorded during the making of their number one album ‘What Went Down’. ‘Rain‘ didn’t make it on to the record but you can get it exclusively on Record Store Day from participating record stores. Elbow frontman, Guy Garvey ventured out on his own late last year, releasing his first solo album, ‘Courting the Squall‘, receiving praise from critics all over. On Record Store Day, the Mancunian is putting out his second single, ‘Unwind‘ as a limited edition 7″ vinyl.
Last month we lost a legend who inspired so many people and next month, we’ll get a chance to remember why on vinyl when there’ll be three records re-issued of David Bowies’. ‘The Pye Years 1966‘(12″ vinyl), ‘The Man Who Sold The World‘ (12″ picture disc) and ‘TVC15‘ (7″ vinyl) all set for release next month.
