We first caught The Kairos back in September when they played alongside Rats for a thrilling sold-out night in the Arts Club’s main room. In the review, their set was described as:

Their a band that cause a stir amongst the audience and resulted in being one of the highlights of the night.”

Sometimes a band’s sound is better heard live than through headphones but in The Kairos’ case. They’re just as good through speakers at home, as they are through the speakers in a venue.

The band released their first single, ‘Money Mind’ back In June 2019 and  have toured relentlessly with This Feeling and around Liverpool before the release of new track ‘Teetotal’ dropped this month.

New single, ‘Teetotal’ opens with a yearning guitar that almost leans into wild western vibes before things go down and guns are drawn. Sped up by drummer Sam Bradley, the intensity of the track immediately leaves behind it’s echoing start and replaces it with a glittering melody.

Frontman, Tom Dempsey steers into the intensity of the track as he’s washed over by the hostility he’s created. Singing about being defined by their actions after a session on the pints:

I’ve seen it all before, once or maybe more… I feel it coming over, feel it coming over…

Soaring guitars up the intensity as the track progresses, along with the constant rolling beat that pounds home Dempsey’s angst. It eventually erupts with a glorious instrumental before returning to the chorus to close out the track.

It’s a track packed with a punch and another stellar release that continues to show there is an exciting future ahead for The Kairos.

The Kairos will be playing at the Invisible Wind Factory for a massive show along with Rats on Friday 21st February. Tickets on sale now via Skiddle.
