On The Radar: SPINN
JACKS radar has been searching across the city for our next local band to pop up and this time, SPINN are the ones showing up On The Radar.
SPINN consists of four lads from Liverpool who provide dreamy and uplifting indie pop anthems that can brighten up anyone’s day. The band have just released their fourth single ‘Notice Me‘ ahead their gig on Friday July 7th at The Magnet.
The Liverpudlian quartet’s latest effort is a fun and easy-going track. ‘Notice Me‘ opens with beats and a guitar line that has an 80s vibe. Lead singer Johnny, sings about the person that he wants to “notice” him and all the things that make this person stand out to him. The way the person at the centre of the song is idolised, is enough for anyone who had a high school crush to relate to.
Throughout, the playful and catchy melody enchantingly carries you through the delightful track. Backed with a playful beat and the subtle work of the bass, all comes together to form a warm and enjoyable song.
It’s the band’s fourth single as they work towards putting out an EP and it’s another solid addition to their discography that can get you up and dancing along to. ‘Notice Me‘ is definitely another reason as to why SPINN are continuing to grab people’s attention across Liverpool.
SPINN are playing in The Magnet on Friday July 7th at The Magnet on Hardman Street. The gig is part of the Double Denim event, which stems from Leeds, who host the number one rock club night in the Yorkshire city.
SPINN are second from the top on the bill, with Huddersfield band Courtyard, headlining. Also performing on the night are The Lambert and Lost Trend. Doors are at 8pm and best of all it’s free entry!
