Gorillaz perform Humanz in full at intimate London show
On the back of unveiling four new tracks from their upcoming album Humanz, Gorillaz put on a star-studded show, playing the new album in its entirety in London last night.

It’s a comeback that has been teased for a long time now and at last, the four apes created from the minds of Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlitt are back with their fifth album Humanz.
Taking over British radio on Wednesday evening, the band premiered four new tracks on BBC Radio 1, Radio X and Beats.
Giving us a taste of what to expect on the new record due out on April 28th, the animated group debuted ‘SaturnBarz‘ and ‘Andromeda‘ on Radio 1, Radio X got the first airplay of ‘We’ve Got The Power‘ and Beats1 premiered ‘Ascension‘.
When the songs had hit the airwaves and it was well and truly out there that Gorillaz are back, it was revealed that they’d be hitting up London to play Humanz in its entirety. An album that’s packed with exciting collaborations, with De La Soul, Jehnny Beth, Benjamin Clementine and setting aside the Britpop wars of the 90s, Albarn has brought in Noel Gallagher for an appearance on the record. This was going to be one hell of a party and best of all for those in attendance at the Printworks venue, it was free. If you weren’t in London or missed out on tickets, luckily it was streamed live online.
Albarn and Hewlitt brought Humanz to life, with each song getting its first live airing and all the guests on the album in attendance, it was a sight to behold as Gorillaz made their mighty return after a seven year gap since their last release, The Fall came out and six years since they were last on stage.
We only have just over a month to wait before Humanz is released and we’ve already got four tracks to tie us over while we wait, it mightn’t be the Year of the Monkey but it definitely feels like it with Gorillaz back in a big way.
Only a few weeks ago, the band revealed they’ll be putting on their own festival in Kent this summer called Demon Dayz by taking out a full page advert in the Metro newspaper, along with videos on their social media bringing us up to date with what’s been going on in the lives of Murdoch, 2D, Noodle and Russell.

Along with all the rush of new material and return to the live scene, there’s also a video to go with ‘SaturnBarz‘ which sees the animated apes take up residency in a haunted house, where once settled in, things go pear-shaped. Check it out below.
